Disney President's Day Tournament - February 12th - 14th, 2010

Wow! What a weekend for the club.

We gave all participating teams the Club goal of allowing an average of 1 goal a game against all teams.  Saturday we played 11 games and as a Club allowed 11 goals, end result was 7 wins 2 losses 2 draws.  Sunday we played 13 games and allowed 13 goals.  End result 24 games 24 goals allowed.   6 of 8 teams advanced out of group play.  This is an incredible feat.  Our club was 16 wins 5 losses and 3 ties in preliminary round.

Champions:
U18 Boys Co Champions defeated Leg AZ and Maitland both ranked above us and will pick-up and estimated 1200 ranking points moving them to number 1 is the state.

U15 Boys.....grueling 3 game preliminary round with a 2-2 draw with Boca and a 2-1 win over Orlando Ballers and a 2-1 win over Belleview.  The Finals ended in penalty kicks and a 4-3 shootout win over the higher ranked Kendall side.

U17 Girls...the girls did not concede a goal the entire weekend (really helped the Club average).

Semi-Finalists:
U13 Girls....went 3-0 conceding 1 goal in first round.  2-1 win over Boca, 1-0 over Buckingham PA.  In the Semi-Finals the team went down 0-3 to a very good Mako team.

U14 Boys....team went 3-0 to win the group over the 30th ranked team Nationally.  Opening with a 2-1 win over Creeks, 2-1 over Orlando Strikers and then a dramatic 2-0 win over Pennsylvania State Champion (Region 1 Semi-finalists).  A tough 1-0 loss to Royal Palm Beach in the semi's ended the run.

U17 Boys (Vegas Team) thought the tournament was over only to get in as the wild card with a 1-1-1 record.  Opened with a 2-2 draw with FC America Omni, then a 1-0 loss to Omni Red, an exciting 4-3 win over Fuquay-Varina of North Carolina.  Team lost to eventual Champion Boca 2-1.

Both 15 and 16 girls played very well going 1-2, but being on the wrong end of the draw.  Both teams played the 2 teams that reached the championship in each age group.
